Q: What is clinical hypnotherapy?

A: Clinical hypnotherapy uses guided hypnosis to access the subconscious mind — where habits, emotional patterns and stress responses are formed. Unlike stage hypnosis, it is evidence-informed and used by medical specialists including gastroenterologists, cardiologists and emergency doctors to support patient care.

Q: Will I lose control or say something I don’t want to?

A: No. You remain aware and in control throughout. In fact, you will gain back some control of your life. Hypnosis is simply a state of focussed attention. You will not do or say anything you don’t chose to. I often work content free as the issue is rarely the issue and allow the client to process the change internally.

Q: What if I can’t be hypnotised?

A: Hypnosis is a natural state which we go in and out of daily. Everyone with an imagination can enter a hypnotic state — it is simply a pure state of focused attention that we all experience naturally (think: absorbed in a book, movie, driving on autopilot or even focussed on your Excel spreadsheet at work). The 15-minute discovery call will give you a clear sense of whether this is right for you.

Q: How many sessions will I need?

A: Most clients notice meaningful change within one to three sessions.  There is no fixed programme — the pace is entirely led by you and what is shifting.

Q: Is hypnotherapy available in Melbourne, Australia?

A: Yes. Sessions are available in person at my clinic in East Melbourne and online in Australia and globally.

Q: Is this available online?

A: Yes. Sessions are available via video call and are equally effective. Many clients prefer the comfort and convenience of their own home, particularly for this type of work.
